About Me
I am a high school senior with a deep interest in business, technology, and global cultures. I enjoy learning how ideas move across borders and how companies adapt to meet the needs of people with diverse perspectives.
Over the past year, I’ve been working with Thacher’s International Studies and Computer Science departments to develop a potential collaboration with Rakuten, Japan’s leading e-commerce and technology company. What began as a proposal to connect Thacher students with Rakuten’s AI and data initiatives has grown into an active conversation about cross-cultural learning and innovation, and we are now taking steps toward launching a student internship program through Rakuten.
I have traveled to Japan twice. On my first trip, I visited Rakuten and began to understand how a company of this scale operates in Japan. On my second trip, I was able to build on that experience through this initiative and was able to present the project to Rakuten’s CEO and several company executives.
Through these visits and ongoing work, I have gained first-hand exposure to how an international business operates at scale and learned more about the cultural and economic context behind Rakuten’s work. This experience has given me a deeper appreciation for the process of turning ideas into partnerships
I am very passionate about learning and turning ideas into real-world projects and initiatives, and I am active in various school endeavors and leadership positions. At school, I lead the Thacher Asian Student Society (TASS), organizing cultural events such as Diwali and Lunar New Year. I also serve as the head of Thacher’s Community Service, helping to put on regular service projects around the greater Ojai community.
This past summer, I took courses in international relations, business, and leadership that strengthened my understanding of global systems—insights I’ve since applied to my work on the Rakuten initiative and to my internships at Walnut Knolls and Roller Software.
In my free time, I enjoy soccer, music production, capturing unique drone footage and photography, and travel—all of which keep me curious about how people and ideas connect across borders.
